Need Chemical Detox from a Prescription medicine It's messing up my life, who does this stuff?

Which hospital, who would help me or refer me ,where are they? who do I ask? does insurance cover it or not?



I have been on Lorazepam/Ativan for 7 1/2 years, and when I reduce it to stop taking it, it's very hard..



so I am searching for somewhere (I know it exists) where they put a IV in you and basically flush the drug out of your system while you are asleep 24 hours..I have to live around this medicine, I am losing work because of it, it puts a fog over my whole life and my family...I'm a zombie...I ran out before somehow, and I could not sleep so I was awake and felt horrible for 5 days(Didn't sleep one bit, (Finally after 2 to 3 days my body gave in and I had to stay in bed basically all the time cause I was so weak ,my heart beated rapidly if I had to stand up even for just a moment..but my mind never rested, so in a sense only my body rested a little, but I never was fully asleep)...(NEVER WANT THAT TO HAPPEN AGIAN........:( I just wanna be like any normal person and do a days work, come home and fall asleep on my own....



Can my family doctor write something out that I can take to a big hospital where they can chemically detox my body of this crazy drug?



If so, what's the procedure called, and what do I ask my doctor in order to get it written? Which hospitals can do this? Just any big hospital or must I go to a specialty hospital?



ANYONE that gives me any answer that leads to getting this done for me, I will be forever in your debt and do anything I possibly can to prove my thankfulness to you...



I think right now if someone we're to call me and said they could do this for me right away, I would jump in the car and drive non-stop to get there and afterward (and I'm a guy) but I think I would cry, and give the doctor and nurses and hug and kiss (I am dead serious) knowing the fact that I would then be on the road to being able to sleep on my own, being more alive and noticing my life around me..



PLEASE someone help, read this and if you know anything that may help just post it as a answer..



Words CANNOT explain how this drug has effected my life these past many years now, I can't even remember my life anymore, I have horrible short term memory...



The time I ran out of this medicine and had to stay awake 5 days I felt miserable, I felt like the walking dead, but I can remember what I did all those days perfect, (because the drug wasn't in my system?) What little of anything I could do anyway without any sleep, and so weak...



I need help off this medicine so I can get a job, so I can support my family and so that they and I know there will always be a roof over our head, we have been through a lot together but this medicine is tearing many things apart...



If I am dead tired from a day (sometimes not always) I will just lay down and fall asleep, a few hours later or maybe very very early in the morning I will wake up, and feel like I can't move, like my mind is fogged up..I can't function or anything...all this because I forgot to take that 1 pill before I went to bed the night before.....:-(



I want to go to school in another state for a CDL license and become a over the road driver but I can't because I'd be away from home for too long I couldn't get my refills and all that.....



please someone guide me here, or help me if you can.....



I am very very desperate to get off this drug, it is holding my entire life back!



If ANY doctor trys to put you on this medication Lorezepam which is Generic for Ativan and tells you it's not chemically addicting look at them and tell them you know that it is...and don't use it..unless you want to have to live around the medicine the rest of your life...



If I take 1 pill at say 9PM monday, by 9PM tuesday, I will feel horrible if I wait even a few more hours I feel like a zombie...and restless..

Your family doctor can refer you for admission into a hospital to detox. you may then be transferred to a different hospital for further treatment if the one where you detox doesn't offer it. But you can detox under your doctor's care in any hospital. It is important for you to get there asap before you change your mind.
