Cut raw onion into two pieces, put in a box, tightly close it. Keep it below the pillow and sleep for a night. See its miraculous effect. Such magics should be tried and tested if you are a true believer of magics. Though I have not yet tried because I never got such a problem. What to do if your mother is a Hoarder?
Maybe watch an episode of hoarders with her and your dad, so that they can see for themselves that it is not a normal, healthy way to life. Other than that I don't know what to say. Usually it's the kids who have the messy room and the parents who are nagging to get it cleaned up. But you guys have it backwards. By the looks of it, you are actually the mature one, and your parents are either needing to grow up, or they just need to learn to let go of stuff. Perhaps they have some sort of attachment to things that they keep.
I can completely relate to you, my mother has always been a hoarder. My entire childhood-teen years I couldn't have any friends over. My mom would flip out if I tried throwing her stuff out or cleaning. It can be extremely tough dealing with a hoarding mom, I am 23 years old now and live with my boyfriend. He complains that I am messy, I believe that a lot of my mom's hoarding habits have rubbed off on me. It sucks big time, I am really embarrassed by it.
I think, in the mean time, just be sure to keep your space clean (your bedroom and whatnot).Clean what you can. It's a good thing that you are noticing your moms hoarding is an issue early on that way it will be a less chance that it rubs off on you once you move out on your own.
I don't know what medical plan you guys have. I have Kaiser and they had a group program that helped with overcoming OCD. I am so much better and learn to deal with my obsessions so much better than before, it has truely changed my life. She has to go to a Psychiatrist and be screened. Good luck!!!
Omgsh my mom doesn't throw anything away! lol I know how you feel. She isn't exactly a hoarder but when she ';cleans'; she tears EVERYthing apart then takes forever to make sense of it. On top of that she'll look at you like you did it.lol Honestly I just try to throw things away when she isnt paying attention and she doesnt notice its gone anyway cause there's so much of it. But be careful because some things actually are important lol.
