What is meant to be the purpose of a guy and a girl who are friends agreeing to date other people?

Let's say you just meet a girl, and it's clear you like her. She tells you that you can date another girl if you meet someone, and for however long you want to date them. You ask her if she just wants you both to find someone else to be with, and she says ';I don't know, let's see what happens.'; What exactly is she saying? Is she trying to keep you for a prospect?



Present day: it would take a lot of explaining of how it got to this point, but recently, she got a boyfriend and told me that she only loves me as a friend, she isn't the girl for me, and that she doesn't feel anything romantically for me. She said that I'm sweet, kind, great, and awesome, but she doesn't know why she doesn't feel anything for me, she just doesn't (and I'm tired of this happening to me). She wants me to find someone else. However, I still foolishly have hope. She said she's sorry, and I really mean a lot to her. If you could hear the way we used to talk to each other, you'd understand why I still like her and why I thought she liked me. We would steal each other's words, constantly say the other is so amazing, stuff like that. I know I should move on, but at this stage I have hope that she'll feel something in her heart for me.



start from the bottom. Tell me whether or not I was specific enough here. I was trying to avoid future heartbreak like what I feel now. She says presently that she's holding up her end of the agreement )to date other people), and that I said I wasn't getting my hopes up, so she isn't in the wrong. I will soon post a more detailed version of the events leading up to now. At the time of this conversation, it started seeming like she liked me, and she could tell I liked her.

i think you're better off just forgetting about her and moving on. she says she has no feelings for you, your best bet is to move on completely and then if she comes back to you, so be it. i think you're wasting your time with her, though, and a relationship between you will only end in heartbreak...for you. She is not really interested and is stringing you along. Go meet the other girls and have fun. Don't waste your time on this one, she is a player.



She is telling you to date other girls so that it is ok for her to date other guys. There is no commitement between the two of you and she shows no signs of wanting one.
